Welcome to the second week of school! Today, we went over what it
means to be an organized and efficient student in English class as well
as strategies on how to preview a book.
Due Friday: I will do an organizational check; you will also need to have an independent reading book picked out.

Ah, the last day of the first week. Today, we began independent reading in the class, with each of you choosing a book from the class shelf and reading silently for 20 minutes. However, that is only the introduction! On Monday, we'll have a more indepth 'opening' to this activity which will constantly fill our classroom.
Today's genre of the day: The receipt!

The second day of school is over! I hope that it went well for everyone. Today, we did a get-to-know-you activity in class, and I introduced the "genre identification" activity that will help to open up every class. The genre of the day: The tweet! See you all tomorrow!

Wednesday, August 22
Welcome back! I hope that it was a great first day back for you all. Today, we did the standard "first" day stuff: Went over the syllabus, talked about school-wide rules, etc. So, no homework for tonight. Tomorrow, we'll talk about "classroom expectations" as well as "you" a bit more. See you then!

Getting Excited!!
Hello! While I know that none of you (my future students) will read this, I just want to write to say that I'm excited for this upcoming school year. I currently in a library planning some great things to help you all become better readers and writers... regardless of the context that you are doing said activities in.
All for now!
